St Clements University EMBA Program

St Clements University’s distance learning Master of Business degree program is an Executive Master of Business Administration designed for working Managers to expand their network and knowledge horizons.

This program is administrated by St. Clements University – Lausanne.

Objectives

This program is designed for senior executives with minimal formal management education. The candidates are set assessment projects, topic papers and thesis designed to marry the textbook theories with their own work place experiences. This is in contrast to traditional classroom learning, and assessment, which uses the taught knowledge in answering examination questions. Candidates would be expected to have a Bachelor degree or equivalent and 5 years management experience. The program is divided into two parts.

Part I (8 Modules)

The first part comprises 8 units, designed to subject candidates to the broad management knowledge of the unit subject area. The examination is by topic or project paper, this is designed to make candidates relate the subject theory to their work environment.

The subject units are not graded and the candidate either demonstrates that they have competently completed this requirement or need to re-submit the required topic or project paper.

Three compulsory Units

Finance and Accounting
Marketing
Management Principles

Plus three of the following five units:

Economics
Total Quality Management
Human Resource Management
Management Information Systems
Entrepreneurship

Part II Independent Study Project (ISP)

The second part is designed for candidates to develop their management speciality in a particular discipline area. The Independent Study Project is designed to develop the candidates expertise within one of the six discipline units studied in part I. It Should extend the candidates knowledge in a specialised area within the broad discipline area.

In this part the candidate is required to write a 10,000 to 12,000 word research thesis on a topic subject designed to develop the candidates expertise in the discipline area.

the Institute of Professional Financial Managers (UK) as a Fellow;
the Society of Sales and Marketing (UK) as a Graduate Member;
the Institute of Management Specialists as a Fellow;
the Academy of Executives and Administrators as a Fellow, and;
the MBA & Professional Managers Guild of South Africa as a Member.
